If you have been to Celebrate the Arts! in years past, you know how exciting it is not only for the students, but for the volunteers. This year, we are looking to serve approximately 500 students from White County Schools. The students arrive by bus and visit different stations on the campus to experience various forms of artistic expression which include theater, drumming, dancing, singing and visual arts. The message within Celebrate the Arts! is inclusiveness and some of the artists/performers have disabilities or work with people who do.
- The students will be in five groups (each with a different color) and there is a need for two volunteers per group as Group Leaders to lead students to each station.
- Group leaders will help clean up artist hospitality boxes after the event and return to the Community Hall.
- Arrival time for volunteers is 8:15-8:30 a.m., in the Community Hall. The event ends at Noon. Then students will have lunch on the lawn before departing on buses at 1pm.
- There will be a Disability Handout sent to volunteers prior to the event. This will be extremely helpful as we interact with students. Volunteers working with youth are required to complete a background check. SNC has the paperwork and will cover the fee for each background check.
