If you have been to Celebrate the Arts! in years past, you know how exciting it is not only for the students, but for the volunteers. This year, we are looking to serve approximately 500 students from White County Schools. The students arrive by bus and visit different stations on the campus to experience various forms of artistic expression which include theater, drumming, dancing, singing and visual arts. The message within Celebrate the Arts! is inclusiveness and some of the artists/performers have disabilities or work with people who do.
- 2-3 volunteers will serve as floaters (must be able to carry 50 lbs.) to help distribute coffee & hospitality boxes, gather lunches from buses, be extensions of Terri Edgar, Youth Arts Instructor and Jenna Scaramuzzo, Performing Arts Director during the event and help with clean up after the event.
- Arrival time for volunteers is 8:15-8:30 a.m., in the Community Hall. The event ends at Noon. Then students will have lunch on the lawn before departing on buses at 1pm.
- There will be a Disability Handout sent to volunteers prior to the event. This will be extremely helpful as we interact with students. Volunteers working with youth are required to complete a background check. SNC has the paperwork and will cover the fee for each background check.
